Second Life Tip #7 Emoting
You can type anything you would like to express with the /me emote command in Second Life like /me laughs. would then say Laurelyne Laville laughs. on my screen. Get creative with it and you can do lots of things like one I use very often on Del /me playfully ruffles your sexy chest hair.

Hi Laurelyne,
I have a question about emotes. Consider me , for lack of a better word, a dummy , cuz I m new in SL. Getting much better at it butstill too new for my liking.
Can you explain about using emotes in SL?.
I tried typing /me and then some text and nothing happened.
Do I need an AO or something?
Can I use them in IM?
No way u r still single in SL

You can type it into the chat bar /me then your text and hit enter. Make sure there is a space between your /me and the text. It has always worked for me. I forget to use it because I am used to games that not always had an emote comment so most of the time emote like this: *bends and playfully kisses the tip of your nose* People catch on to that too. Either way works.
I don’t need the /me followed by quotes do?
And can this be used in IM?

I just got the Huddles EZ HUD.
Ever hear of it? And if so I have a quik ??
Never used Huddles before, I use a Chimera for Dancing.
As for using me/ no quotes just type /me tap your space bar once then type normally and press enter
