Announcement – London sim and UGC

I removed 9 very favorable articles from this blog about the London sim and the Underground Club located there, the exception being the spotlight on DJMike article.  Apologies for any inconvience this will cause but I can no longer support this area in Second Life.  I will explain more later about my decision. 

Del and I have been long time patrons and supporters of the London sim with tips, staffing help and free publicity on this blog for their clubs and events.  Sorry to see this happen but as I know a reader could also be harmed, I can not in good conscious continue to support the London sim.

Laurel’s Picks of Places to Go – Coffee Cauldron

 A new hotspot in Second Life!  The Coffee Cauldron has newly opened and it’s a great place to hangout with your friends and to meet new ones.

This new project from Starwitch Caudron and Sab Bailey is sure to be a great sucess!  The atmosphere is very cozy and inviting and lots of hot coffee is always available.  Soft jazz plays as background music here but you can also use voice to communicate. 

Who knew the English could make such good coffee?  Stop by and pay a visit, you will be glad you did.  Join the group to find out when coffee hours are but you are welcome any time.

Store Update – Mens V-Necked Tees

Two new tees added to the mens store today.  These are V-necked and come with a short tucked in version as well as a longer untucked version to allow a good fit with all your pants. Complete with shadows and wrinkles for a realistic look on your avatar.

Store Update – Bikinis Marked Down

I did a markdown on all the tropical print bikinis today from 125L to 100L just because they have been out awhile so it just make sense to drop the price some to encourage customers that don’t already have them.

Laurel’s Picks of Places to Go – Corsage Ballroom

Corsage Ballroom is brought to you by the same folks as Cruise-Aiders which I have also featured this month.  Soft music and a beautiful location makes this a top formal dancing location in Second Life!  DJs are often on hand for your dedications and requests during peak hours. 

Del and I enjoyed our time here and will definately be back again.  DJ Jacqui was here when we danced and provided some great music for our evening! Low Lag for those who love to move freely.  Click the round globes on the fence to rez couple dance balls.

The SLURL takes you to a sign with teleports built into it (the green balls next to the text) that will allow you to jump to the various locations on the Cape Cruise sim or stroll through to take in the scenery along the way as this sim is nice to explore as well.

Laurel’s Shopping Picks – Bryce Hair for Men

While looking for something else entirely, I came across this shop of mens hair.  Knowing just how hard it is to find quality hair in Second Life from Del’s frustration, I knew I had to blog this.  Bryce’s Hair for Men is a great place to find a good variety of styles for men in an even greater variety of colors.  The prices seem quite reasonable to me and the textures have a nice attention grabbing shine to them.  There is a style called “Mouth” on the back wall that is free if you want to try it to give you an idea of the quality of the hair sold here or take a newbie to get some much better hair to start with.  The freebie comes in a wide range of colors too.  Stop in for a look guys for a new look!

Laurel’s Places to Go – Cruise Aiders

Del and I found the ultimate party boat in Cruise-Aiders!  It’s a club on a yacht which features popular music from the 70’s and 80’s.  It’s a hopping place most times day or night with many of the popular DJs from around Second Life playing here.  You might see DJ Troy or DJ Loa from the UGC of the London sim playing here for example.

Cape Cruise itself has some great shopping with the shops close enough together to make it nice to stroll around and see what they have available. (Some shops still available for rent.)  A very pleasant and well landscaped environment with amusements such as a pool, beach, 7 Seas Fishing, Jetskis, skydiving and boats are also available for your entertainment.  This sim is also home to Corsage Ballroom (to be covered in a post in the works) and Sea Breeze Restaurant. 

A DJ and Hosting School is available to help provide much needed education to help you land that Second Life job you had in mind.  You can see Del and I enjoying the music in the club in the picture below, as Cruise-aiders has become a new favorite for us.  General chat here is very friendly and often very funny to join in on.  Del and I have made a few visits here and have recommended the club to some friends who have also enjoyed their time here.  Don’t miss out on the action yourself!

Laurel’s Shopping Picks – Sartoria for Men

Sartoria for Men is an upscale mens store located in the Best of Italian Style mall.  A great store to find fine suits and some casual pants and shirt to mix or match. 

The two boxes on the table in front of me in the picture are freebies, you guys can grab while visiting the store.  I know Mens stores are hard to find so I just had to cover this one when I stumbled across it.

Today, I added the Rebel Open Shirt in Black for Men and 3 Sheer Tanks in White, Red and Blue to the Men’s store at Mid Mall.  Do stop by and check them out!  These are shirts on the jacket layer so long enough to cover even with lower cut pants.  I’ve added lots of new items to the mens store in recent weeks so if you haven’t been up there recently, you might have missed many of the new releases.  Enjoy!

I found this dress a bargin at Frangipani one of my favorite stores.  It is the Allure Halter Dress in Ultraviolet and only 50L or get the fat pack of 4 colors for 150L.  I got the fat pack since it was such a steal.  It’s a great store with reasonable prices and the older releases are at a steep discount, check the right wall as you walk in for the discounted items.  There is a large assortment for your shopping pleasure. 

Frangipani also has some Mens clothing at ideal prices too.  Upstairs is the hair department for women but I spotted some styles there that would look equally as awesome on men.
