Happy Birthday Grace!

PrincessGrace

This morning we celebrated the birthday of our daughter Princess Grace Adamski at Cruise -Aiders.  Best wishes to Grace on her special day!  Sir Nitram and I are so very proud of Grace.  Music was provided by the amazing DJ Kaele Rhiadra with her hostess Julianna who work together Saturdays at 3AM there.  The Princess was looking especially lovely, as you can see above.  That is Cleo John the morning manager at Cruise – Aiders in the picture’s background, she does a wonderful club with that club keeping everything running smoothly.  We always have such a good time there together.  Sir Nitram and I have many friends at Cruise – Aiders and it is our morning place to be when socializing.

I learned from Julianna that the DJ Boot Camp and Host Schools at Cruise -Aiders have re-opened to train Second Life residents to DJ and Host in those skills.  You can get more information on that from the boards above the hostess stand.  If you are seeking to make some Lindens and have fun while doing so it is a great opportunity to learn new Second Life skills!  The DJs and Hosts at Cruise – Aiders do such a great job that it must be a great place to start!

SL Education – TUi NEO Building Projects

tui-tutorialsTUi NEO has a huge selection of projects that will allow you to learn some building skills while completing a usable object.  You can work at your own pace, at anytime, at a public sandbox or on your own land.  I’m sure you will find lots of things to work on here.  Beginners should look for level 1 projects and once you feel comfortable with those work up to some level 2 projects.  If a level 2 project proves too hard for your current knowledge, you can always save it till you have more experience.

Short on Lindens?  Touch the Midnight Mania board each day and if the quota is reached…everyone gets the project FREE!  You can see me standing in front of the board now so you know what it looks like.    Building projects or kits can be a great way to learn some SL skills at your own pace or if the classes on the Events tab of search are unconvient for you.  Have a look around!

Second Life Education – Crated Classes

http://slurl.com/secondlife/Atlantic%20Cove/140/54/21/

Crated Classes like Tutorials 2 Go that I raved about before is a place you can buy a tutorial project and then build it right at the store in the provided sandbox, at the sandbox of your choice or take home with you to work on as you have the time.  All needed materials are right in the box for you to work at your own pace.  It’s a great way to learn some new skills and maybe build something for your Second Life home or store in the process.  I’ve tried a few from this store and found them to be complete and pretty easy to work through so I can recommend.

Second Life Education – TUi NEO University

http://slurl.com/secondlife/Technical%20User%20interfacing/102/225/21/

I’m taking my own advice today and attended my first class at TUi NEO University in Second Life. I took a Lvl 2 class which I think was a bit harder for me.  I managed to complete the project but think I will take at least one Lvl 1 class before doing that again.  Classes fill up fast so arrive early to ensure your spot.

To attend a class, check out the class schedule board and when the class opens it will appear below with a teleport spot next to it.  Touch the teleport to be moved to the classroom.  Once at the classroom, find a square mat on the floor or chair next to a mat and stand on it till the class begins. Most of the lvl 1 classes are free..some require a nominal fee like 10L.  My first class was taught by a cuddly rabbit so I slipped her some extra lindens after class to cover her carrot expenses. Lvl 1 classes are designed for those with little to no building experience where as Lvl 2 classes are more advanced.  I was feeling cocky I think after making my first heeled shoes last night so started with a Lvl 2. Make sure you grab the provided supplies before the class starts.  Look for something that resembles a lantern or tip jar and touch it for a folder of supplies. You will want to keep Local Chat History window during lessions so you can refer back to chat if needed. Each class lasts about an hour.

Now excuse me as it is time to start my cuddle couch class! TUi NEO University is also looking for teachers, if you are looking for a SL job.  They will teach you what you need to know.
